Kao the Kangaroo – All The Lava Caves Collectibles Locations
The Lava Caves steps up the pace in Kao the Kangaroo with tough platforming challenges and many pits of fire that the adorable protagonist can fall into. But the struggle will be worth it when you find all of the collectibles in this area. Here’s where to find all of them. By the way, each of the relics is practically handed to you during the level.
Kao the Kangaroo Lava Caves Diamond locations
There are a total of five diamonds that you can find in this Kao the Kangaroo level, the Lava Caves, sparkling in blue and ready for the taking.
The first diamond you can find in this Kao the Kangaroo level is just after finding the introductory relic that appears after bringing down a metal box from webbing with your fire boomerang. Just before you go up the ledges to reach a lantern checkpoint, look to the right. You’ll see a diamond spinning above you with a floating platform going up and down. Jump up to that spot to claim your first diamond.
The second diamond is easy to spot. When you receive multiple fire tokens to use and stomp the floating platforms to get them running, you’ll see a diamond on the second propelled platform in the next set.
Next, the third diamond can be spotted in the laser room. It’s a unique area in Kao the Kangaroo, for sure. Activate the interdimensional platforms with your boomerang and in the middle of the room to the right, you’ll see a diamond ready to be picked up.
Unfortunately, the fourth diamond will be the hardest to find. After you fall down a ravenous waterfall section, you’ll be in a room with a giant G and some gears on a massive wheel in front of you. To the left of it, you’ll see some boxes to can be destroyed. Take them out with your fists, and there’s a diamond waiting for you behind the rubble.
The final diamond is found within the last room of the level. There is a barrier to a box in the middle of the area with red turret-like machines placed all over. Go to the left turret and behind it, you’ll see some jars you can smack; they have a question mark on them. Behind the jars is the final diamond, hiding just like the last one.
KAO
The letters KAO are also present in the Lava Caves. You can find the first letter after jumping on two sets of floating platforms that needed to be activated by your stomp and fire tokens. At the end of the passage, you’ll see interdimensional crystals in the air. Slap them with your tail while in the air to make the blocks appear in front of you. At the top, you’ll find the letter K.
After taking the passage out of the room with the big G wheel, you’ll find yourself in an elevated area with a rollable tunnel on the left side and a stack of boxes on the right. Take the right before going to the tunnel and destroy the boxes to find the A.
The O is awaiting you in the last room of the level, where you activate lasers and make the barrier disappear. Jump up to the laser on an elevated level and run past it. Jump to the end of the passage to find the O.
The Scroll
After traversing across the laser room, you’ll find an annoying frog trying to fire at you with his fire spear. Take him out and jump on the rock it was on. In front of you, you’ll see webs. Behind it is a scroll. Get your fists fired up and hit the webs with your tail mid-air to make the passage to the only scroll on the level open.
