Pokemon GO Announced Twinkling Fantasy Event, Introduces Mega Salamence

Niantic has announced the Twinkling Fantasy event for Pokemon GO that will introduce Mega Salamence, shiny Dedenne, and other things. The Twinkling Fantasy event will run from Tuesday, January 10th, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. to Monday, January 16th, 2023, at 10:00 p.m. your local time. What fantastic tales will you create with this trove of Dragon- and Fairy-type Pokemon during this event?

About Twinkling Fantasy Event

The Twinkling Fantasy event features almost exclusively Fairy and Dragon Pokemon, and the introduction of Mega Salamence is at the top of this fun, new event. In addition to Mega Salamence, Pokemon GO is releasing shiny Dedenne into the wild, which is a lovely new shiny for the game.

In addition to these details, a Collection Challenge will be made available – Complete the event themed challenge to receive 50 Salamence Mega Energy, a Charged TM, and an Elite TM.

There are plenty of event bonuses planned, too. These include 2x XP for successfully catching Pokemon with Nice, Great, and Excellent throws. You will also get more Candy for successfully catching Pokemon with Nice, Great, and Excellent throws. Finally, there will be an increased chance for Trainers level 31 and higher to receive Candy XL for successfully catching Pokemon with Nice, Great, and Excellent throws, so start practicing your curve balls for this event!

Larvatar Community Day Classic

In addition to the Twinkling Fantasy news, Niantic also announced that Larvatar Community Day Classic will also be happening in Pokemon GO this month. On Saturday, January 21st, 2023, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. your local time, Larvatar will be spawning in the wild more frequently. If you are lucky, you will encounter a shiny Larvatar, so if you missed the previous Community Day featuring this little guy, now is your chance to collect a very strong rock and dark type in Pokemon GO.
