Shovel Knight Dig Coming to Nintendo Switch September 23
Developer Yacht Club Games has a brand new trailer for Shovel Knight Dig, a Spelunky-like spinoff of their iconic indie franchise, Shovel Knight! The game is a collaboration between Yacht Club Games and Nitrome, the developers of the 2018 action platformer Bomb Chicken, and will be released for Shovel Knight Dig will be released for Nintendo Switch, iOS, Mac, Windows PC, and Apple Arcade on September 23, 2022.
What is Shovel Knight Dig?
Shovel Knight Dig is a brand new spinoff of the Shovel Knight series that reimagines the game’s side-scrolling hack-and-slash gameplay to tell a new story with new mechanics, characters, and a whole new world of adventure to explore!
Originally announced back in 2019 and delayed till this year, this title will pit our titular hero against a nefarious new foe in the form of Drill Knight and co., out hero must dig his trusty shovel blade deeper and deeper into the earth to discover new downward into new areas that stitch together levels from assets from the original game with new and increasingly challenging ones!

When Drill Knight and his dastardly digging crew blast apart Shovel Knight’s peaceful campsite and steal his loot, he grabs his trusty Shovel Blade and starts tunnelling after them!
Meet new friends and foes, visit strange lands, and outfit yourself in your quest to keep the entire land from collapsing underfoot! Jump, slash, and dig your way down an ever-changing chasm of mystery in Shovel Knight Dig, an all-new Shovel Knight adventure!
