Colossal Cave Coming to Switch on January 19
Ken and Roberta Williams, co-founders of Sierra On-Line, which pioneered the graphic adventure game genre, have officially announced the launch date for their next game at the 2022 Game Awards, Colossal Cave!
This “ultimate 3D interpretation” of the original 2019 text adventure will be coming to its upcoming release date for Meta Quest 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC and Mac come January 19, 2023.

A 3D adventure unlike any other awaits in the depths of the Colossal Cave!
Wonders beyond your imagination lurk behind each dark corner of this winding labyrinth of underground caves, where you must collect each item you come across to survive!
As you dive deeper and deeper into the depths in search of treasure and adventure, beasts only once thought to be in storybooks come to life! But will they be friends… or foes?
As you explore, you must find the answer for yourself, and more as unlock the secrets of the labyrinth, with puzzles around every corner, and new treasures to discover the deeper you go!
“The original Colossal Cave Adventure, a 2019 Video Game Hall of Fame recipient, will forever hold a special place in the hearts of Ken and I,” says Roberta Williams, in a statement.
“We’ve built this world with all of the love and wonder of the first game, and hope the next generation of gamers can experience the same magical touch it had on our lives.”
Ken and Roberta Williams are back with a new company, Cygnus Entertainment, and Colossal Cave is just the start of the numerous projects they hope to curate over the next few years!
Other planned classics up for reimagining are like are the 2020 Video Game Hall of Fame recipient, King’s Quest, as well as Space Quest, Phantasmagoria, and many, many more!
