Edge is the first character you can unlock in Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope. After exploring the first world Beacon Beach and getting to the Temple Catacombs, you’ll be faced with a threatening boss named the Giant Wildclaw. Edge is a playable character during this battle and if you’re successful, she’ll permanently be a part of your team.

You may want to level up first before facing the Giant Wildclaw, however. Grind experience by finishing battles in the open world, and then go back inside the Temple Catacombs before taking on the boss.

When you feel comfortable and ready to defeat the Giant Wildclaw, there are a few things you should note. The first thing you should know is that the battle is over once the Giant Wildclaw is defeated; you do not have to take out the enemies that spawn around it as well.

Additionally, you should add characters to your team that can perform long-range attacks. Luigi has a handy bow and arrow that has a wide range, for example. The next choice we recommend is Rabbid Peach, who can heal her allies. Make sure you buy a lot of Giant Mushrooms from a nearby vendor as well. Unfortunately, Rabbid Yoshi won’t be able to help us in this battle.

When you hit the Giant Wildclaw, it will automatically take steps towards you, so make sure you keep your distance. Otherwise, it will do a melee attack that will cause around 400 damage. Be careful!

Don’t just focus on the Giant Wildclaw though. Try to take out a couple of goons here and there, so the damage output from opponents doesn’t grow too much. Take cover as much as possible as well, rather than standing out in the open.
