CAPCOM Reveals Top 3 Weapons Used in Monster Hunter Rise Demo

capcom

The Monster Hunter Rise demo is officially over, but as long as you have it downloaded onto your Switch, you can still enjoy the single player if you still have plays leftover. Today, CAPCOM revealed the top three used weapons from the demo in January, and it is honestly no surprise for fans of the series.

The weapons available in the demo were Bow, Dual Blades, Long Sword, Lance, Heavy Bowgun, Light Bowgun, Hammer, Sword and Shield, Insect Glaive, Gunlance, Great Sword, Switch Axe, Hunting Horn, and Charge Blade. That is a lot of options, but which one was used the most?

Number 3 is the Hunting Horn, which is honestly quite shocking for me. For those unfamiliar, the Hunting Horn is one of the more complicated weapons in the game. It is equal parts strong and resourceful, which makes it an essential weapon in teams. However, it is slow and hard to use, making it difficult for newcomers, but it is nice to see it used by 9.6% of players!

At number 2, we have the Great Sword, which barely clipped by the Hunting Horn at 9.7%. This is expected, as this is the staple weapon in the Monster Hunter franchise. To be honest, I expected this one to be the most used weapon in the game, as it normally is when CAPCOM does these types of polls, but it is currently not the king of Monster Hunter Rise. That prize belongs to…

The Long Sword, the most used weapon in the demo, used by a whopping 19.1% of users. Next to the Great Sword, the Long Sword is the most user-friendly weapon currently in the Monster Hunter franchise. It covers a lot of space, it hits really hard, and it is relatively fast compared to other big weapons, which makes the Long Sword one of the best weapons to play in solo mode.

For me, I have always been a hammer user, so my goal in each hunt it to aim for the head, break horns if they exist, and knock out the monsters for massive team damage. How about you? Which weapon(s) did you use in the demo?

Monster Hunter Rise launches on Nintendo Switch on March 26, 2021. Look forward to more articles highlighting the game as we approach that date.
