Pokémon Puzzle League Coming to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion on July 15
Nintendo has officially announced the next game that will be coming to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion, and that is Pokémon Puzzle League. Originally released on the Nintendo 64 in North America in 2000, this puzzle-based adventure inspired by the anime series saw players tackle different trainers and gym leaders throughout the games and show, mainly from Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow. The game will be available to Nintendo Switch Online members starting on July 15, 2022.
The game’s official description reads:
“Get ready for a new kind of Pokémon battle where the power and speed of your brain are just as important as the strength of your Pokémon! Join Ash, Brock, Misty, and many more characters from the Pokémon animated series as they gather in Puzzle Village to compete for the title of Pokémon Puzzle Master.”
The goal of Pokémon Puzzle League is to destroy pieces of a puzzle by matching three or more blocks to each other, similar to the popular SNES game Tetris Attack (or Panel de Pon). Players can compete against other Pokémon Trainers from the anime and games to rack up the highest score and win.
The title will feature multiplayer so members can go up against their friends to see who will stand on top as the true Pokémon Puzzle Master!
Pokémon Puzzle League will be one of many classic titles available on the NSO Expansion Pack, including games Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Starfox 64, Banjo-Kazooie, and many many more.
However, Japanese subscribers will instead have access to Custom Robo and Custom Robo V2 instead of Pokémon Puzzle League come July 15.
